COVID-19Peace of mind planning for your company
Is your company prepared?
A few months ago, 2020 was predicted to be the “year of remote work.” But even the most optimistic telecommuting advocates never anticipated the launch of the world’s largest work-from-home experiment before the end of the first quarter.
Companies around the world are beginning to order employees to work from home for the next few weeks until the COVID-19 virus is under control. A sensible measure, but a challenging one as well. If your team is not used to working from home, this may become a very taxing time for your whole team. If you haven’t already, it is time to take a very close look at your business’ remote work capabilities.
What should you do?
Start testing your remote work capabilities now. Have two or three folks do a trial run working from home for 2-3 days and take careful notes on what does and what doesn’t work well. It is critical to take note of things that may seem like a minor inconvenience for one day, but which could be a major problem if forced to work remotely for an extended period time. Can you properly access all of your internal and client data? Can you properly function and communicate as a team? Can you effectively communicate with clients? Can you run payroll?
Contact us today to review your current remote work capabilities and, if necessary, come up with a plan to get you were you need to be. Don’t wait until you have frustrated employees working from home.
